Join a leading global Animal Health manufacturing site as a Packaging Operator. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting labelling and packaging equipment to ensure vaccines and animal health products are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently for release to market.

You will work within clean and environmentally controlled GMP facilities, executing critical packaging duties while upholding strict biosecurity and site safety standards.

Packaging Operator – Level 2

Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Pay: $34.65 per hour

Location: Parkville, Melbourne

Shifts: Monday to Friday | 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM

Core Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot automated labelling and packing machinery.

  • Continuously monitor the quality and accuracy of all overprinting activities, perform in-process checks, and calibrate scales and label counters as required.

  • Issue, handle, and reconcile printed materials for production orders, prepare vaccine shipments for release, and maintain machinery stock levels.

  • Complete real-time documentation and recording of activities on approved documents in strict adherence to GMP compliance and site Quality Management Systems.

  • Participate in safety audits, hazard/incident reporting, departmental sampling, and departmental improvement projects.

Key Requirements

  • Prior hands-on experience in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting within a regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or animal health environment.

  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), site quality systems, and biosecurity requirements.

  • Willingness and physical ability to work in clean/classified areas, requiring primary and secondary sterile gowning (lab coat, safety boots, hairnet, mask, gloves, goggles).

  • Comfortable using workplace IT systems for training modules, data entry, and learning plans.

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills with high attention to detail for precise batch documentation.

  • Ability to handle physical and visual demands, including manual handling, standing for prolonged periods, and close-vision inspection tasks.
